The developer version of this Flash game has an embedded level editor. It has an option to write a level to a file, and to read in a file created by the level editor. Reading in a file is fine. WRITING a level file causes it to crash.
Note that this was done in a developer folder that has full read-write permissions for all applications (as macOS has locked down permissions on folders like Desktop and Documents).
