The Presales Engineering repository has been created to further collaboration within Rapid7 presales engineering and prospects. This repository is not for use in production deployments, but contains common scripts used during Proof of Concepts. This repo contains content like:
- scripts for installing Rapid7 products quickly
- scripts for preparing virtual machines for Rapid7 install or lab environments
- custom scripts for POCs that may be reused by other POCs
- scripts for quickly configuring POC servers with common post-install configurations (like creating very common Dynamic Asset Groups in InsightVM)
- troubleshooting scripts for networking or product
- common custom reports
- public facing workshops and walk-throughs
Rapid7 employees are welcome to submit Pull Requests via branch or fork. Contact @thonker-r7 if you have any questions. Only R7 Platform Delivery can approve Pull Requests into master.
Use of the Github Starter Guide may be helpful for those that are not familiar with git or GitHub. It provides details on using the web GUI, desktop GUI, and command-line for tracking files with git: https://wiki.corp.rapid7.com/display/DS/Github+Starter+Guide
Suggested Guidelines:
- Any new content should be peer-reviewed by at least one other contributors
- Modifications to previous content should maintain backwards compatibility
- Use labels on pull request to make them easier to sort and identify
- Provide README.md markdown with documentation on how to install, configure, and use the content
